St. Louis, Missouri (January 11, 2020) - The Nuclear Blast Rockwell Yamaha Racing team made the trek east to race the “West” and came back home with another main event finish.
It was the first indoor race of the year with what many consider to be the best dirt on the series. But with many of the riders being a little thrown off with the nearly 4000 mile round trip from Anaheim, California so it was a bit of a slow start…
Qualifying wasn’t exactly what the rider from Newhall, California wanted. After piecing together the track in the first couple sessions, the #72 went out in the last qualifier to set the 23rd fastest lap time and that would set him up for heat two heading into the night show.
For the second week in a row, it wasn’t the best of starts in his heat, but Wageman went to work immediately and worked his up to a 6th place finish and punched his ticket directly to the main event.
The start of the main event looked promising racing around just outside the top 10, but a small crash on lap 9 would ultimately put the Nuclear Blast Rockwell Yamaha Racing bike back around 20th and down a lap. The #72 never give up and fought back to 18th to salvage 5 championship points.
