Here is some more info on the all new 2017 KTM models.
KTM just announced its 2017 new-model line up, a full 17 different models (and this doesn’t count their minis!). The big news that covers all of the models is new suspension. The SX, SX-F, XC, and XC-F line all get the WP AER air-spring fork. This is the fork that came on the 2016 Factory Editions models, and our time on it tells us this is a good switch for these models. These AER-equipped models also get new shock valving and all are spec’d with a softer shock spring. For the non-air forked 2017 KTMs, they will get new a WP Xplor fork and Xplor shock.

WP’s AER air fork is claimed to save over three pounds compared to last year’s 4CS coil spring fork.
For the two-stroke riders, KTM has an all-new engine that is claimed to be not only faster but also to produce less vibration. It has a twin-valve controlled power valve. The engine makes its way to the 250 SX, XC, XC-W and 300 XC and XC-W. These models, along with the 125 SX and 150 XC-W also get a new carb, the Mikuni 38mm TX. All the two-strokes also get new exhaust systems.

Two-stroke engine development is alive and well at KTM. Here’s the cylinder.
The big news for the four-stroke riders is the addition of electronic traction control on the SX-F and XC-F models. On all these models, the traction control is in addition to the Launch Control KTM racers are already familiar with. These six four-strokes will also get new aluminum (switching from steel) engine headstays designed to improve chassis handling.

KTM’s engine management is going pretty high tech this year with an electronic traction control on some models.
And for the rider looking for a fully capable off-road bike that also comes with a license plate, the biggest news is the littlest bike in the class – the new model 250 EXC-F. So if you want a light, agile bike and the ability to link trailheads, you are in luck.
All of the AER-forked bikes also receive a new top triple clamp, new handlebar mounts, and a 10mm longer brake pedal. We’re providing the long list of new model changes as provided to us from KTM. Scroll down to find your model and check out what KTM lists as the model changes.

The 350 returns as the ‘just right’ size for many riders. It gets all the updates the 250 and 450 bikes get.
2017 KTM 350 SX-F
The concept is simple: near-450 cc power levels with the agility of a 250-class racer. While the concept is may seem easy; the execution is where it matters and the 2017 KTM 350 SX-F comes through in spades. With a compact engine that cranks out unbelievable amounts of power wrapped in an agile, lightweight chassis, there is no equal for the 350 SX-F anywhere.
Already proven to be a strong performer, the KTM 350 SX-F gets even better for 2017 with a host of updates that further push the boundaries of what is possible. The addition of KTM’s revolutionary TRACTION CONTROL gives the rider more control when the track conditions are less than perfect, and a new WP AER 48 air-sprung fork further hones the SX-F’s razor sharp chassis while cutting three pounds of weight. There is nothing like the 2017 KTM 350 SX-F out there, because no one can do it like KTM can.

2017 KTM 300 XC
The KTM 300 XC’s unrivaled torque, lightweight, and rock solid handling make it an unstoppable machine for extreme cross-country terrain. The all-new 300 XC features a newly developed two-stroke engine fitted in a state-of-the-art chassis. The stellar performance of the lightweight 2-stroke engine makes it a true contender against more complex 4-strokes with less maintenance and mechanical complexity. This new generation cross county weapon is faster with less vibration than any 300 cc 2-stroke before.
An all-new chassis features a chromoly steel frame with high torsional rigidity with less longitudinal stiffness for excellent handling and bump absorption. Match that with a WP AER 48 air-sprung forks and new rear shock, and the 2017 KTM 250 XC is the most READY TO RACE off-road 2-stroke 300 ever created.
Highlights:
NEW 293 cc engine features an all new architecture with a new shaft arrangement for better mass centralization
NEW cylinder with twin-valve controlled power valve for smooth power that can be adjusted within seconds for different track conditions
NEW lateral counter balancer reduces engine vibrations for less rider fatigue at the end of the race

2017 KTM 350 XC-F
In the hands of multi-time champion Kailub Russel, the KTM 350 XC-F captured the 2015 GNCC and 2015 National Enduro championships – a first in the history of American off-road racing. The nimble but powerful bike comprises of almost as much power as a 450, but with the agility of a 250. This concept has been a success from the start, and now it will be even successful with 2017 350 XC-F model. A new WP AER 48 air-sprung fork has reduced the weight of the XC-F by 3.1 pounds, but has also added a new level of control, suspension action and adjustability. Combined with the addition of TRACTION CONTROL the 350 XC-F is a weapon that will be a winner in the hands of off-road racers nationwide.

The 250cc EXC-F is a new model that 250F lovers will… love!
2017 KTM 250 EXC-F
Joining the KTM’s street-legal enduro line for 2017, the 250 EXC-F has no equal in the quarter-liter dual sport category. An all-new chassis features a lightweight frame with higher torsional rigidity with less longitudinal stiffness to match the all-new WP Xplor front fork and shock. Combine that with a new compact DOHC engine and you have a recipe for success. With all the requisite parts needs to have access to the asphalt to link all the best sections of trail; the result is a READY TO RACE EXC-F suitable for amateur explorers, while still satisfying the pros. Eat that, adversaries.
Highlights:
NEW 250 EXC-F engine has been redesigned in order to make the new powerplant more compact and lighter while delivering class-leading torque and power figures over the entire rev range
NEW Cylinder head with lightened camshafts, DLC coated finger followers and a reworked timing drive for outstanding power throughout the 12,800 rpm rev range
NEW 6mm Shorter connecting rod for a vertical compact engine with snappy response
NEW Engine cases with a centralized shaft configuration, moving the crankshaft closer to the bike’s center of gravity while shortening the engine by 20mm.
NEW Engine covers feature an advanced surface structure to reduce wear for the rider’s boots
NEW 42mm Keihin throttle body for instant throttle response and crisp fueling
NEW 6-speed wide ratio transmission is perfectly suited for off-road duty
NEW Hydraulically operated DDS clutch features a damping system for better traction and durability
NEW Lightweight Chromoly steel frame provides high torsional rigidity with less longitudinal stiffness resulting in excellent handling and energy absorption
NEW WP Xplor 48 upside-down split front fork has outstanding damping characteristics and better bottoming resistance with less weight
NEW WP Xplor PDS rear suspension is more progressive and is lighter
NEW shock mounting geometry is matched to the new swingarm with a more centered location for nearly symmetrical loads to the swing arm
NEW Forged aluminum triple clamp with handlebar positions and a 22mm offset for precise handling
NEW ODI grips that feature a lock-on design for the left grip and a vulcanized grip on the throttle side
NEW 10mm longer rear brake pedal, smaller rear brake piston and lighter disks provide class leading brake performance and feel
NEW “No Dirt” footpeg design keeps the pegs pivot from becoming clogged, ensuring the footpeg is always in the correct position.
NEW CNC machined hubs, high-end Giant rims and Continental TKC-80 tires for maximum strength and traction on and off the road
NEW Airbox and filter design provides maximum performance with fast “no tools” air filter changes
NEW Bodywork with perfect ergonomics and contact points for maximum control and comfort
NEW Cooling system features stiffer radiators with better cooling efficiency while new radiator guards provide crash protection
NEW 2.25 gallon see-through polyethylene tank provides the range needed for extended rides
NEW “No Dirt” shift lever prevents dirt from fouling the lever joint to ensure proper shifting in any condition
