CLUBMX YAMAHA PRE-RACE REPORT – ROUND 11 DETROIT – MOTOR CITY

Birmingham — Momentum Across the Board

The first East/West Showdown of the season in Birmingham delivered exactly what was expected—intensity, depth, and a true test of position across both divisions. For ClubMX Yamaha — backed throughout the season by Flo Motorsports — the night marked another step forward across the entire program, with all four racers easily making the main event and coming home healthy.

West vs East — Performance Breakdown

On the Western side, Max Vohland and Hunter Yoder showed front‑running speed early, supported by the consistency and performance advantages provided by Flo Motorsports components.

Qualifying (West Group): • Max — P2 • Hunter — P7

In the heat race, both riders put themselves immediately at the front: • Max secured the holeshot • Hunter settled into second position

The pair controlled the opening laps, leading the field for the first portion of the race before ultimately finishing: • Max — P3 • Hunter — P6

On the Eastern side, Coty Schock and Devin Simonson navigated a deep and highly competitive field with the same Flo Motorsports‑supported equipment package that has helped elevate the team’s consistency this season.

Qualifying (East Group): • Coty — P9 • Devin — P11

Heat Race Results: • Coty — P6 • Devin — P7

Both riders transferred directly to the main event, continuing a pattern of execution and reliability.

Main Event — Competitive Depth

In a stacked combined field, all four ClubMX Yamaha riders delivered respectable finishes: • Max Vohland — 8th • Coty Schock — 9th • Devin Simonson — 11th • Hunter Yoder — 12th

While the results reflect the depth of the East/West format, the takeaway remains clear: all riders qualified directly into the main event and competed at a high level against the strongest field of the season — a testament to preparation, rider commitment, and the dependable performance of Flo Motorsports components.

Championship Positioning

Momentum continues to build across both divisions:

Western Regional Standings • Max Vohland — 6th overall • Hunter Yoder — 8th overall

Eastern Regional Standings • Coty Schock — 6th overall • Devin Simonson — 7th overall

Across the board, the trajectory is upward.

SMX NEXT — Podium Breakthrough

The SMX Next program delivered one of the highlights of the weekend.

Ryder Malinoski returned to competition and delivered a standout performance, finishing 3rd overall on the podium. Considering the late decision to race and his recovery from injury earlier in the season, the result was both impressive and important. The podium finish secured his position in the SMX Next Finale in Philadelphia.

Jesson Turner showed elite speed in qualifying with a P2 but was caught in a first‑turn incident in the main event that relegated him to the back of the field. Despite the result, his pace continues to position him as a contender. Both riders continue to benefit from the stability and performance provided by Flo Motorsports as they prepare for the championship finale on April 25.

Detroit — Back to the East

The series now returns to an Eastern Regional‑only round in Detroit (March 28).

Detroit presents a unique environment: • Tight paddock conditions • No fanfest footprint • High‑energy, close‑quarters racing atmosphere

While space may be limited off the track, the intensity shifts fully onto it. The Detroit crowd is consistently one of the most engaged of the season, creating an atmosphere that rewards confident, aggressive riding.

For Coty and Devin, this weekend represents an opportunity to refocus. With several rounds now complete, both riders can apply what they’ve learned and shift attention inward — execution, starts, and race management — without the added variable of the West Coast field. Supported by Flo Motorsports, the foundation is in place for continued progress.

Confidence is building. Maturity is showing. And internal competition continues to raise the level across the team.
