MUC-OFF / FXR / CLUBMX – PRE-RACE REPORT - ROUND 25 WASHOUGAL

WASHOUGAL MILITARY APPECIATION: There are a few times during the season where our team will rally around a cause and supporting the military is one of them. Based in South Carolina, ClubMX has a close relationship with Fort Bragg and we appreciate the service of all military personnel, past and present. With that said, Flo Motorsports, SKDA, FXR and Gaerne have once again knocked it out of the park with the coolest tribute graphics and kit. Coty, Max and Alex will represent us well this weekend as we pay tribute to the Military Appreciation round in Washougal.

COTY SCHOCK #37: Coty’s Spring Creek performance was exceptional. Just inches away from another holeshot in moto two continues to show his level of comfort and speed on the Flo Motorsports equipped bike. He ran near the front for most of both motos bringing home scores of 9-11 = 11 on the day. More importantly, his consistency added another twenty-four points to his SMX total bringing him closer to the automatic advancement in the 450 class (currently P22) for the final three races of the season. He realizes he belongs at the front and these final few rounds of the regular season will see that confidence carry him forward. Looking ahead to this weekend, the trip to the Pacific Northwest will be a welcome relief with the cooler weather and spectacular scenery. Washougal is a good track for Coty and with the 450’s going first on the schedule, speeds will be high.

MAX VOHLAND #92: Spring Creek showed an uptick in performance for Flo Motorsports athlete Max as he ran near the front in the first moto with a decent P10 result. In the second moto, a collision with another rider caused his front brake to fail. Now imagine completing the race and going down the steepest hill on the circuit with no front brake. A lesser man would have soiled his pants, pulled off and called it a day. Not Max – he saw it through to the end with a P17 moto score for thirteenth on the day. On the books, not a great result but in terms of progress it was a good weekend. Max still has a secure P9 spot in the SMX overall series and is looking forward to those final three races. Going into Washougal will be a welcome change for Max as well. He likes the track and has had some success there. It will be another chance to get that cool military kit up front.

ALEX FEDORTSOV #784: Flo Motorsports backed Alex unfortunately got his foot stuck in a rut at Spring Creek in moto 1 and twisted his ankle relegating him to P39. A quick trip to the medical unit and cleared for moto 2, he had somewhat better of a run up to P22. Not ideal as they say, but the young rookie is finding his flow as the season moves on. Now a trip to Washougal will actually be refreshing for Alex. Although he has never raced that track, it suits his style. More good things to come soon.
RIDER UPDATE: I am happy to announce that both Jett Reynolds (returning from injury) and Reid Taylor (with visa) will return to racing for our team in the final three rounds of the season at Ironman, Unadilla and Budds Creek. More details to follow.
LORETTA LYNN’S: There is a break in the pro schedule, but our team and truck will return to the most prestigious amateur event in the world at Loretta Lynn’s in Tennessee. Team owner Brandon Haas will defend his #1 plate as ClubMX the facility will host twenty-two riders pursuing their dreams at the ranch. No rest for the team, but it is worth it to support the future of the sport.
