MUC-OFF / FXR / CLUBMX – PRE-RACE REPORT - ROUND 17 SALT LAKE CITY – FINAL

A LOOK BACK AT DENVER: We had a light crew attend the Denver round with only Coty racing on Saturday. Sometimes less is more when it comes to racing and although Coty thrives in all situations, a light weekend is much easier. On his way to wrapping up another good season, the #37 had a strong performance coming home with a sixth place overall finish on the day. Devin Simonson did race the Yamaha PulpMX LCQ challenge – but that did not go well so nothing to see there. All in all, a good weekend for the crew.

ROLLING INTO SALT LAKE CITY: The season comes to a close and there are still a lot of reasons to race. Beyond the championship story lines, the balance of the standings is fairly close and there is money to be made. For that simple reason, the expectation for racing this weekend is off the chart. If you thought last weekend was exciting, this weekend is going to be crazy. Add to that the first very hot weather weekend and we are all going to find out who is in shape and who has already moved on to moto.

COTY SCHOCK #37: Coty is still sitting fifth in the overall standings but by the slimmest of margins. He needs to finish in front of one specific rider to claim that coveted spot for the series overall. Last weekend in Denver was another solid performance with more great starts. A look back at Coty’s season is like a highlight reel. Heat race wins and podium finishes were an absolute step in the right direction. His recent week has been dedicated to getting the 450 ready for the outdoor season. The change of pace was fun for him and he even had a chance to ride his new Yamaha 250 2-stroke for a bit. Because of his performance this season, we all have high expectations for Coty this weekend and at the end of the day we will thank him for another job well done.

MAX VOHLAND #92: How did Max improve his starts so much in one weekend and end up on the podium? Starting blocks. Max is over six feet tall, so touching the ground was never considered an issue. After watching hours of video, it was determined that the change in body position would present some benefits and that is exactly what happened. With that new found confidence and recent success, Max still has some points to prove and let’s face it, once he stepped on the podium, he will want to make a return visit. Max has also spent the week working on his outdoor bike to get ready for Pala. The variety going between Supercross training and Motocross training is fun for these guys and that attitude will follow him to Salt Lake City this weekend.

DEVIN SIMONSON #88: Devin will be completing his final contracted race with the team this weekend in Salt Lake City as he is on a Supercross only deal. Devin has been a real asset to the team in both attitude and performance. The unfortunate issue with his wrist earlier this season was disappointing because we knew what he was capable of. We get to see a glimpse of that one more time this weekend since he is a good starter and totally fearless.

THANK YOU: Thank you to all of the fans, sponsors, partners, promoters, staff, and teams for making this one of the best seasons yet. It goes unsaid but this season has seen the largest growth in attendance and viewership in the sports history. It is fun to be a part of that growth and the possibilities that lie ahead.

These recent YouTube videos are awesome as the team continues to perform at the highest level. Check out this one from Pittsburgh.
